New Legislation changes for Work Related Injury Victims
Compensation, entitlements and claims processes for injured workers have undergone a number of changes in recent years and we understand how frustrating and stressful this can be. You can rest assured that Nick Xenophon and Co. Lawyers have the specialist knowledge and experience in dealing with these changes so that you receive the best possible advice and outcomes.
Starting 1 July 2015, the WorkCover SA scheme was replaced with the new Return to Work SA scheme. This further changed the compensation and entitlements for work injury victims. While the previous WorkCover SA scheme will still apply for all victims injured prior to 1st July 2015, there will be transitional arrangements which may affect future entitlements for previously injured workers.
The Return to Work SA scheme will provide personalised and evidence-based treatment, care and support to people who have been injured at work, for limited time periods including:
- income support to cover your loss of wages
- reasonable medical treatment and care
- return to work services like job placement and retraining.
People with serious work related injuries will be provided with income support to retirement and lifetime care and support.
Please contact Nick Xenophon and Co. Lawyers and let us help you through this often confusing and complicated work related injury legal system, so that you can focus on your health and rehabilitation without the added stress.
